Work

Most of what I know now came from building things and watching what happened next. These are the ones running today...some mine, some client work, all of them live enough to be judged.

Vizmeta

Vizmeta

Digital product studio

Vizmeta is the studio side of what I do. Twenty plus years of enterprise SEO and business technology sat behind client work for teams at Carfax, Dell, Lenovo and Starwood...the studio now points that same capability at products it owns and operates rather than hands off. Product and app development, SEO, design and build, operations tooling and business model work all run through it.

zipBuilder

zipBuilder

In build

A marketplace for home projects that you search by zip, where local pros compete for the work. New homes, remodels and renovations each behave differently as a service, and the temptation is to build three products. zipBuilder runs them off one shared lead core instead...which is what makes a long tail of zip level pages worth having rather than worth maintaining. Still in build.

Recovery Toolbox

Recovery Toolbox

Site live, app in App Store review

A free addiction recovery app with no ads and no tracking, which settles the business model question before it gets asked. It runs offline first, so the tools work with no signal: breathing and grounding, journaling, a short list of people to call, a calm time counter. Someone opening it is usually not having a good day...that is the whole design brief.

InternetAccess.org

InternetAccess.org

Live

Buying a business circuit means finding out who reaches your building, and every carrier will only tell you about itself. InternetAccess.org runs it as an open marketplace: post the requirement once, and the providers that serve that address bid against each other. Thirteen services sit behind one request...voice, fiber, dedicated circuits, colocation. Staying channel neutral is the part that makes the comparison mean anything.

Ark Counseling

Ark Counseling

Brand development (Live)

An outpatient addiction and mental health practice in Minneapolis, moved off WordPress and onto static pages with no database and no plugins to keep patched. A clinic has better things to do than patch a content management system...so it no longer runs one. The risk in a move like this is search, so the legacy URLs were mapped one by one to 301 redirects and the old links still resolve.
